What Is Your Purpose?
Share
When you are running a business, it can be easy to get lost in the shuffle of spending and making money. The every day grind is so taxing that sometimes we forget why we started. Being a faith based entrepreneur means allowing God to lead you in your business and ultimately fulfilling your purpose in the earth. While meeting deadlines, quotas, staying within budgets and answering to the customers demands are all important aspects, we have to keep the number one thing in mind, that is; our true purpose and the reason for our business.
Every so often, you should take an evaluation on yourself and your business. Ask yourself these questions:
- Am I doing what others want me to do in my business or am I doing what God called me to do?
- Is my perspective of success measured by dollars and cents or by needs being met and my purpose being fulfilled?
- If I couldn’t do anything except what I’m doing now for the rest of my life, would I be satisfied?
- What are some ways that I can alter my business to ensure that I am chasing purpose?
It is easy to get carried away in the ideas that other people have for us, but just because you are good at something or something is a good idea, doesn’t mean it’s right for you. The word of God calls us to acknowledge God in all of our ways (Proverbs 3:5-7) and allow him to direct our path‘s. When we Focus on what other people desire to see from us, we slowly dissolve the open line of communication we had with God, where he was guiding and leading us.
Consider this a sign to re-align yourself with the things of God. You have come so far in your business, whether you are just starting out or you have been at it for a long time. The fact that you stepped out on faith and chose to do the thing you feel called to do is a huge step in the right direction! Stay focused on the ball, keep God in the midst and always reevaluate your why.
